Ingredients

  • Mackerel.
  • salt.
  • pepper.
  • milk.
  • butter.

Method

  1. Split fish, clean, and remove head and tail.
  2. Put in buttered dripping-pan, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and dot over with butter (allowing one tablespoon to a mediumsized fish), and pour over two-thirds cup milk.
  3. Bake twenty-five minutes in hot oven.

Kitchen Notes

  • A dripping-pan is a roasting pan.
