Authentic Pico de Gallo
A fresh, classic pico de gallo with the right balance of tomato, onion, lime, and chile.
Ingredients
- 4 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 white onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño, finely diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Method
- Combine the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro in a bowl.
- Add the lime juice and salt and toss well.
- Let sit 10 minutes, then taste and adjust salt or lime.
- Serve with tacos, grilled meats, or chips.
Notes
Use firm Roma tomatoes so the salsa stays bright instead of watery.
