Palak Paneer
A creamy spinach and paneer curry that feels restaurant-style but is straightforward to make.
Ingredients
- 10 oz paneer, cubed
- 1 tbsp ghee or oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 lb spinach
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 tsp kosher salt
Method
- Brown the paneer in a little ghee or oil and set aside.
- Cook the onion until soft, then add the garlic, ginger, cumin, garam masala, and turmeric.
- Add the spinach and cook until wilted.
- Blend the spinach mixture until smooth, then return it to the pan.
- Stir in the cream and salt.
- Add the paneer back and simmer 2–3 minutes before serving.
Notes
If the spinach mixture is very thick after blending, thin it with a splash of water.
