Spanish Rice
For rice dishes, rinse rice for fluffier texture unless making risotto.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups broth
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cumin
Method
- Sauté rice in oil until lightly golden, 3–4 minutes.
- Add onion and garlic; cook 2 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce, broth, salt, and cumin; cover and simmer 18 minutes.
- Rest 5 minutes; fluff.
