Banana Bread (Chocolate Chip)
Use very ripe bananas with lots of brown spots for best flavor.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup melted butter (or oil)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Method
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a loaf pan and line with parchment if desired.
- Whisk mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, salt (and cinnamon) just until combined.
- Pour into pan and bake 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Fold chocolate chips in before baking.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan, then turn out to cool completely.
