Chocolate Sheet Cake
Cool cakes fully before frosting to prevent melting.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
Method
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
- Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla; stir into dry ingredients until smooth (batter will be thin).
- Bake 28–32 minutes until set. Cool completely.
