Red Velvet Cake (Easy)
Cool cakes fully before frosting to prevent melting.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vinegar
Method
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 pan.
- Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk eggs, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, food coloring, and vinegar; stir into dry ingredients.
- Bake 28–32 minutes; cool completely.
