Classic Cheeseburgers (Mushroom Swiss)
Toast buns for better texture.
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 tsp salt
- to taste Black pepper
- 4 buns
- 4 slices cheese
- to taste Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
- to taste Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayo
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
Method
- Form 4 patties; season with salt and pepper.
- Cook in a hot skillet or grill 3–4 minutes per side (or to desired doneness).
- Add cheese for the last minute to melt.
- Toast buns; assemble with toppings and condiments.
- Sauté mushrooms in butter until browned; use Swiss cheese; top with mushrooms.
