Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

olive oil 1/3 cup
garlic, thinly sliced 6 cloves
chili flakes 1/2 tsp
salt 1 tsp
chopped parsley 2 tbsp
Grated Parmesan (optional) to taste
Method
1 COOKCook pasta in salted water; reserve 1 cup pasta water.
2 GENTLYGently sizzle garlic in olive oil over medium-low until pale gold (do not brown). Stir in chili flakes.
3 TOSSToss pasta with garlic oil, a splash of pasta water, and parsley.
4 SEASONSeason and serve (Parmesan optional).
