Baked Quinces.

Ingredients

  • one and one-half cups water.
  • three-fourths cup sugar.

Method

  1. Wipe, quarter, core, and pare eight quinces.
  2. Put in a baking-dish, sprinkle with three-fourths cup sugar, add one and one-half cups water, cover, and cook until soft in a slow oven.

  • Original calls for a slow oven — about 300°F.
