Ingredients

  • one-fourth cup butter.
  • One and one-half cups one-fourth cup flour.
  • four cups of water in which tongue was cooked.
  • one teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce.
  • salt.
  • pepper.

Method

  1. Brown one-fourth cup butter, add One and one-half cups one-fourth cup flour and stir together until well browned.
  2. Add gradually four cups of water in which tongue was cooked.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and add one teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce . stewed and strained tomatoes may be used in place of some of the water.
