Butterflake Rolls
Pull-apart layered rolls with a buttery, soft interior.

Ingredients

all-purpose flour 3 1/2 cups
instant yeast 2 1/4 tsp
sugar 2 tbsp
kosher salt 1 tsp
warm milk 1 cup
egg 1
melted butter, plus more for brushing 4 tbsp
Method
1 Mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Stir in the warm milk, egg, and 2 tablespoons melted butter to form a soft dough.
2 Knead until smooth, about 6 minutes. Cover and rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
3 Roll the dough out thinly, brush with the remaining melted butter, and cut into strips.
4 Stack and fold the strips into muffin cups to create layers.
5 Let rise 20 minutes.
6 Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until deeply golden. Brush with more butter.

Notes
