Indian Meal Mush.
Transcribed from the 1896 first edition of The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book by Fannie Merritt Farmer.
Ingredients
- ½ cup Indian meal.
- ¾ cup milk.
- 1 cup boiling water.
- ½ teaspoon salt.
Method
- Mix meal and salt, add milk, and stir into boiling water. Cook three hours in double boiler. Serve with sugar and cream.

- A double boiler is a bowl or insert set over simmering water.
